Wick Assemblies

Replacement wicks for all Lux Mundi brand Refillable candle shells. Each package contains seven wicks. Sold and Priced by the pack of 7 pieces.

Definitions

Ferrule :: the tiny brass part that holds the wick and screws into the larger brass top that is the top of the candle.

Steps

1. Remove the old wick (you may need a needle nose pliers to grasp and unscrew old ferrule).

2. Discard the old wick and the old ferrule.

3. Clean the brass top that the old ferrule was screwed in to. Pay close attention that the air holes are clean.

4. Thread the new wick. Insert the loose ends into the larger brass top, gently pull down until the ferrule can be screwed in. (You can make your own 'threading tool' by bending a paper clip to use as a 'needle'.)

5. Screw the ferrule down, finger tight.

NEVER change the height of the wick above the ferrule. Doing so will cause the flame to be bigger, but the fuel will be consumed faster and the normal impurities in the fuel will not be incinerated, making smoke. The impurity build up will eventually cause the exposed surface area of the wick to shrink and the candle will fail.

ALWAYS ensure that the air holes are open and clean or the candle will fail (or work poorly). Fuel is drawn up the wick by capillary action which will fail if the air pressure inside the candle cartridge is not equal to the air pressure outside the candle cartridge.
